About the Founder and Director
Shri. Lazar Thurakkal Sebastine was born in Cochin (Kerala, India). His father late Shri. Sebastine Thurakkal, a well-known violinist himself, laid a very strong foundation in music for shri. Lazar. He joined R L V college Tripunithura and scored with 1st rank in Violin. He furthered his education in music by completing a post-graduate course at SST college of music Thiruvananthapuram. Shri Lazar began his professional career as a performer and educator since 1991. He is graded artist with AIR, Doordarshan and has performed globally. He was an instructor with the Singapore Indian Orchestra and Choir Peoples Association. Moreover, he works as a tutor for the Centre for the Arts (National University of Singapore) and as an educator for international schools. He has composed, arranged and produced music for tele films, short films, devotional albums with varying genres from contemporary, jazz, fusion to classical (Indian & western). For his endless contributions to the field of music and arts, he received the Sangeetha Sarva Bhouma awards from Natyranjni center for dance excellence in the year 2021. Additionally, was titled Sangitha Kala Nipuna by Bhaskar’s Academy Singapore in the year 2022 in recognition of his dedicated service in ensuring the continuity of the arts. Recently, in June 2024, Shri Lazar Thurakkal Sebastine received the prestigious Arybhata International Award in recognition for his relentless contribution and service in the field of Violin. Besides being an accomplished violinist, he is also adept at playing keyboard and runs a school called Panchamam Arts and Creations.
